HIS STORY
Born on 27 May 1939 in Chaibasa, Ajay Rungta grew up in a bustling joint family with several siblings and a house full of cousins — a childhood shaped by close-knit bonds and a strong sense of responsibility.
He was married on 15 February 1958 and went on to raise four children — two sons and two daughters — with high expectations and steady guidance.
Over the years, he earned the respect of many as a thoughtful and accomplished leader, receiving numerous accolades.
But to those who knew him well, his true legacy lay in the quiet consistency of his character — always impeccably dressed, deeply committed to his work, and devoted to his family.
In his later years, he softened even more, especially with his grandchildren, with whom he shared stories, sweets, and an easy, affectionate warmth.
